The Plot-hole Filled Homicide of Thom-I mean, Captain Cornball
I learned a lot from this project, from how DNA evidence can be analyzed, to different criminal charges, to creative writing. I would like to know more about the formal court proceedings, seeing as how our "court" were four student volunteers, and there wasn't a jury, or judge. I think that next year, SEVERAL plot holes should be filled and more connections made. I get that there was supposed to be ambiguity, but there was so much ambiguity I couldn't even find the ambiguity if it left a DNA fingerprint. I feel like this was so disconnected and it lacked a real story to make it interesting. This project has great potential, it just needs to be polished and have a better execution. I felt that I did a fairly good job of staying on task, although I did lose it a few times to make the odd quip or to just get some distance because it was so frustrating (I have a strong dislike for poor story writing, does it show?). I felt a bit off during the presentation, I am used to being in front of people talking (thank you drama!), yet the small, personalized, almost informal presentation wasn't what I expected, and that threw me somewhat for a loop. However, I talked slowly, only was tripped up two times, and didn't make a fool of myself, so I am at peace with my presentation. Next time I would go in with even more preparation, and clean up the slides as I noticed that the audience was looking more at the bare-bones powerpoint than they were at my more detailed explanation. I though my group did a poor job of staying focused consistently. We got the job done, and we all had a great time doing it, but we would've been done a lot sooner if we weren't always going off on a tangent. Oh well, that's the price for having a group of friends. During the presentation everyone did their job and there were no major problems, so no complaints there. If we were to do something differently it would be to have more detailed explanations and less improvisation on the presenter's part (again, thank you drama).
